U.S. Senate candidate Jim Carlin to Share ‘Stop the Squeeze’ Message at Clay County Fair

SPENCER, Iowa — Jim Carlin, the conservative Republican candidate running for U.S. Senate, is scheduled to attend the Clay County Fair Sept. 11-13, where he will meet with Iowans at the Republican party booth to discuss his campaign platform, “Stop the Squeeze.”

Carlin’s initiative takes aim at the mounting economic pressures burdening Iowa families, farmers, seniors, and small businesses. His campaign calls for cutting reckless federal spending, auditing the Federal Reserve and U.S. Treasury, restoring free market competition, and defending the personal freedoms of everyday Iowans.

At the heart of “Stop the Squeeze” is confronting the rising cost of living—housing, healthcare, and student loans—that Carlin argues has been driven by inflationary policies in Washington. He also highlights the challenges facing Iowa farmers, who are caught in a “double squeeze” of skyrocketing input costs and depressed market prices due to government-backed monopolies.

Carlin, a former Iowa state senator known for his consistent conservative record, draws a sharp contrast with incumbent Sen. Joni Ernst, citing her votes for Biden Administration budgets, foreign aid packages, red flag laws, and even her support for requiring women to register for the military draft. He also points to her opposition to traditional marriage as evidence she has strayed from Iowa’s conservative values.

“Iowans are being squeezed by higher prices, monopoly control of markets, and leaders who put Washington’s interests ahead of our own,” Carlin said. “We need a strong conservative fighter who will actually stand with President Trump, defend families and farmers, and put everyday Iowans back at the top of the priority list.”

Carlin will be available to meet with voters at the Republican booth during the following times:

  • Thursday, Sept. 11: 4–8 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 12: 4–8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 13: All day
