SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Jim Carlin, the conservative Republican candidate running for U.S. Senate in Iowa, on Thursday announced the endorsement of Iowa state Sen. Kevin Alons, R-District 7, joining Iowa state Senators Sandy Salmon and Doug Campbell in supporting Carlin’s 2026 campaign for Iowa’s open U.S. Senate seat.
In the endorsement by Alons, he praised Carlin’s character and leadership.
“I’ve known Jim and Donna for a long time. He’s grounded in the Constitution. He’s grounded in his walk with Christ,” Alons said. “His faith, I think, drives his convictions, (it) will drive him and it gives him that grounding that will make sure that when those challenges come and the questions come and you don’t know for sure what the right answer is, I know he’ll find the right answer.”
